Lauren Patterson - Events & Fundraising Current Job : RN in Dermatology What’s Your Why : During my first ICU clinical in nursing school, I worked with a patient dying from a long battle with cancer. The courage displayed in the face of tremendous suffering by the patient, and the needs of the patient’s family and friends during that time changed my life. The experience enforced my resolve to fight this disease on all levels – in the search for a cure, in providing understanding and comfort during the battle with cancer, and, if confronted with the outcome, making every effort to provide dignity and solace at end of life. Children are the real wealth of our society; I want to do everything I can to give them the chance they deserve.

Brandi DeVries - Events & Fundraising Current Job: Land O'Lakes, Inc - Community Relations Manager What’s Your Why: Cancer doesn’t discriminate. Someday someone I know, or my family, may have a child diagnosed with cancer. I didn’t want to miss the opportunity to support the research of a young scientist in the present that would potentially save the life of a child in the future.
