What’s Your Why: I am a very grateful recipient of medical miracles, both as a former patient and as someone who loves others who have been and are current patients. I love that we are able to pay it forward to the medical community as they have given both me and so many others the two greatest gifts of all: hope and time.
Lauren Patterson - Events & Fundraising
Current Job: RN in Dermatology
What’s Your Why: During my first ICU clinical in nursing school, I worked with a patient dying from a long battle with cancer. The courage displayed in the face of tremendous suffering by the patient, and the needs of the patient’s family and friends during that time changed my life. The experience enforced my resolve to fight this disease on all levels – in the search for a cure, in providing understanding and comfort during the battle with cancer, and, if confronted with the outcome, making every effort to provide dignity and solace at end of life. Children are the real wealth of our society; I want to do everything I can to give them the chance they deserve.
Brandi DeVries - Events & Fundraising
Current Job: Land O'Lakes, Inc - Community Relations Manager
What’s Your Why: Cancer doesn’t discriminate. Someday someone I know, or my family, may have a child diagnosed with cancer. I didn’t want to miss the opportunity to support the research of a young scientist in the present that would potentially save the life of a child in the future.
Amanda Sullivan - Marketing
Current Job: CFA Society Minnesota - Events & Communications Manager
What’s Your Why: I am excited to contribute to this amazing organization to honor my daughter who was declared no evidence of disease in August 2019, after a 1.5 year battle with germ cell cancer. I also enjoy volunteering my time and talents to causes that are near and dear to my heart.
Amanda L. Pittman - Events & Fundraising
Current Job: Legal/Regulatory - Optum
What’s Your Why: I've always been passionate about medicine and children and this allows me to step in and help make a difference by shining light on an area that doesn't receive as much attention, but is crucial in the fight to eradicate and cure children's cancer.
